Many residents will be
aware that Sheffield City Council was to
conduct a feasibility study into
the possible construction of wind
turbines in Westwood Park, High Green.

After writing
to the leader of Sheffield City Council asking
whether he would be keeping his commitment to the residents of High
Green to look at alternative locations for this windfarm,
I am pleased to inform you I have now received a response to
this letter from the Leader which confirms that Sheffield City
Council will now be looking for alternative locations for
Sheffield’s first windfarm.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the trouble to
make your voice heard. This is truly a victory for the people of
High Green; the council has listened to your views and responded to
them.I
never believed
Westwood
Park
was the
right place for these turbines.
I am so pleased this issue has
now been resolved and I am happy to have been able to help you.
As far as the proposals at Hunshelf Bank are concerned, a planning
application has now been submitted to Barnsley council.
To
the best of my knowledge
these turbines will be in the region of 400ft
high, the height of Blackpool Tower,
and will be seen quite clearly for a number of miles. On this
proposal I will be more than happy to receive people’s views
