Angela Smith MP launches new Website

Sheffield Hillsborough MP, Angela Smith today launched her new website, The site is another way in which is Angela intends to communicate with her electorate.

With over 60 percentage of the population now having access to the internet this website provides a easy to access insight into Angela Smith’s work as an MP.

With a section for latest news Angela will be able to keep constituents informed about what is happening, both in Westminster and the constituency. There is information about her new surgery in High Green surgeries in other locations, and details how to contact her office to book surgery appointments.

There is also a page where constituents can write directly to her, asking for help or to voice concerns over a particular issue.

Of interest to some will be the brief history and description of the constituency and of course some brief details about Angela Smith.

On the launch Angela said, “I find the internet to be a tremendous source of information and communication. I want to be able to offer constituents an information service about my work as their MP; I believe this new website offers this.
The internet is now a popular way in which many people get their news and information. It was always a priority of mine to be able to offer this sort of service to the people of Hillsborough. However, it was important that this was done in a way which follows the latest accessibility guidelines; I am pleased this new site meets the industry standard WC3 for compliance and accessibility.
I would like to encourage people in the constituency to make use of this new medium to keep up to date with what I am doing as their MP and to use it to contact me.”

Notes for Editors:
The suite was designed by Colin Sewell, a web developer based in South Yorkshire.

It has been designed to follow current web standards and guidelines for compliance and accessibility, as defined by the international body the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

Ths means the website is viewable and accessible in all modern web browsers that support W3C standards, as well as other assistive devices and technologies, such as text only browsers.

The site features information about the constituency, details of how Angela can help her constituents as their MP, and other useful local contact information.

There is also a regularly updated News and Press Releases section. It has been paid for out of the incidental allowance expenses all Members of Parliament receive for office and communication expenses.
