St Maryís Primary School visits their MP

High Green school pupils from St Maryís Primary recently spent time looking around Parliament on a school visit.

While there, they toured both the House of Lords and House of Commons, where they looked around the Commons chamber, stood at the dispatch boxes and debated policy!

After the tour they met up with local MP, Angela Smith, when they spent time asking her questions about her job as their representative.

After visiting the Palace of Westminster they spent the rest of the afternoon taking a ride on the London Eye before travelling back up to the motorway to High Green.

Commenting Angela said,
ďItís always great to greet visitors to Westminster and explain to them my role as the areaís representative. Itís even nicer when those visitors are from a school. Itís so important children learn about our democratic system and visiting Westminster is an ideal way to do just that.Ē

If your school wants to visit Westminster, Angela says please contact her constituency office on 0114 2831855.
