Stocksbridge Bus Service

Angela took up local residents’ concerns with the operators and the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.

Following the re-opening of Middlewood Road North and the concerns raised by customers the Transport Executive and operators have arranged for the following service provision as from 25th January 2009 (please note that this is the earliest possible date for implementation)

Services will be as follows:-
Daytime (0700-1900) Monday to Saturday
Service TF1 will operate from Stocksbridge and will make stops at Bertram Road and Stockarth Lane (on request)

Service 268 will operate on a two hourly basis from Oughtibridge to Hillsborough from 0916 and will recognise all stops along the line of route

Service 57/8 will continue to operate via Worrall as per the current daytime route

Evenings Monday to Saturday
Service 57A First will operate at 1905 and 2005 from Sheffield Interchange
and return
Stagecoach will continue to operate the service from 2100 from Sheffield Interchange and return

This will provide an approximately hourly service on Middlewood Road North

Stagecoach will continue to operate service 58 on an hourly basis via Worrall

Sundays

Stagecoach will operate service 57A providing an hourly service via Middlewood Road North throughout the day/evening

Stagecoach will operate service 58 as at present providing an hourly via Worrall

Commenting Angela, said, “Many of my constituents have contacted me concerned that once the road was re-opened the buses would not revert to the original routes or provide an adequate service. This announcement will hopefully alleviate their concerns.
