ANGELA BOOKS READING CHALLENGE
The campaign organised by The Reading Agency’s publishing partner’s aims to encourage children to visit their local libraries so they maintain their reading skills
To support the initiative Angela donated books, courtesy of The Reading Agency’s publishing partners, to Stocksbridge library.
While presenting the books to the library she also met up with young children from Stocksbridge Junior School spending time telling them about her role as their MP.”
During a tough question and answer session Angela told them how proud she is to represent the area Parliament and how she always makes sure she represents, to the best of her ability the views of local people.
Commenting on the campaign Angela said: “I fully support the idea that we should encourage youngsters to read, and am delighted to be donating books to support the excellent work of Stocksbridge library.
“Our libraries and librarians help children get the reading habit early, they are a great place to spend time, and learn to enjoy books.
“While children are having a great time, they are also reinforcing all their educational achievements in reading.
For me there nothing better now the dark nights are approaching than snuggling up with a good book, I recommend everyone, and not just kids get themselves a good book to read.”
